Trimmer Stennis Garrard, Jr. of Terry, Mississippi, has died at age 73.
Stennis was born on June 2, 1950 in Jackson and lived his whole life in the areas of Terry and Byram. After finishing school, he served in the US Navy on a submarine and was in the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Stennis worked at Blaine’s Upholstery Shop repairing car upholstery until he retired.
In his off time, Stennis enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. “His grandchildren and his great-grandchild were the joy of his life and he loved them very much,” his obituary says.
Sadly, Stennis died on May 31, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Barron Garrard; step-sons, Jason Hughes, Grant Hughes and Sam Yarborough; step-daughters, Tammy Jay and Caree Slusher; sisters, Ann Therral, Phyllis McLean and Pam Deihl; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
