There’s a new player in the CNC stitching game and it’s one of our favorites: Apex Leather.
The supplier of high-performance auto leather and interior products just launched a new CNC program with over 30 distinct patterns. For THR readers not familiar with Apex, they have an industry-wide reputation for doing things right so you know it is going to be good.
The new CNC Program allows auto trim shops to provide clients with truly unique, custom leather interiors.
Here’s how it works:
- Pick the CNC pattern you like.
- Decide which premium Apex leather or Dinamica microsuede to stitch in on – they are all available!
- Select the perfect Serafil thread (Apex stocks all 240 colors).
- Choose either ¼ or ½ pink sew foam backing to use.
- Call to place your order: 800-402-7195
“We are thrilled to bring this exceptional service to trim shops and help make the process easy,” says Jen Fedor, Vice President of Apex Leather.
Apex also brings some additional goodies to the table that trimmers are really going to like.
The finished stitched area of each CNC panel is a whopping 32” W x 47” L, which is at the high end of the industry. The “Xtra-Large” panel requires a half hide of leather, but Apex will even send you the unused portion of leather and thread along with your completed CNC order.
The larger panel size combined with a wide range of leather, thread colors, and patterns, makes the possibilities for a one-of-a-kind creation nearly endless.
Prefer your own custom design? Apex offers that too!
Shops can submit a design to Apex and in return receive both a CNC pattern proof and a sample of the stitched design before production. This service comes at an additional cost but is certainly worth it.
“Shops are always trying to push the envelope on design and we love being a partner in these special collaborations,” Fedor says.
The release of the CNC stitching program is a significant milestone for Apex Leather as they further expand their vision for being a “one-stop shop” for auto trimmers.
“We’re a family business too, so we know how important it is for our shops to be able to get what they need and fast,” Fedor says. She expects the typical turnaround time for a standard CNC order to be no more than two weeks and says even more patterns are on the way.
