Who’s Going to Win NC Interior of the Year?

Do you think you have what it takes to challenge the industry’s best trimmers and come out on top? Then enter “NC Interior of the Year.”

NC Carpet Binding & Equipment is excited to host the auto upholstery industry’s premier competition for a fourth straight year.

“The 2018, 2019 and 2020 contests produced some epic interiors,” said Mal Maher, CEO. “But it’s more than that. It’s about getting recognized globally and competing against the best. If it were me, I’d gunning for the bragging rights alone.”

As always, Douglass Interior Products is co-sponsoring the competition, which culminates in an award ceremony held on the sidelines of the SEMA Show.

“We couldn’t turn down an opportunity to support the hardworking craftsmen and women in this industry,” said Brodie Smith, head of aviation and automotive sales at Douglass.

“Mal called us up to ask if we were in — and we said ‘hell yeah!'”

THE PRIZES ARE AWESOME

The 2021 winner will receive a MONSTER TROPHY to display in his shop; an NC Leather Skiver, complete with a servo motor workstation + Vacuum system; and $2,500 gift certificate to Douglass to spend on premium automotive leather, fabric or carpets. That’s a $4300 value.

Then there’s the bragging rights! The winner will join DJ Designs (2018), Stitchwurx (2019) and Brent Parker Motor Trimming (2020) as the only shops to win this prestigious award.

Of course, the winner will also be profiled on The Hog Ring.

“Want to be seen and recognized? What better way than to be judged by some of the industry’s best trimmers and have your work viewed world-wide? Raise your shop profile, push yourself, and show us what you got,” said Mal.

THE JUDGES

This year’s contest will be voted on by a panel of elite shops and industry insiders:

“NC interior of the Year” is the only industry award that’s voted on by peers, making victory even sweeter.

HOW TO ENTER

To submit your interior project for judging, follow these simple steps:

Make A Post On Instagram tagging @NC_Carpet_Binding, @Douglass_Interior_Products and @TheHogRing. Use #NCAutoInteriorOfTheYear.
Complete the above two steps by 5:00 pm ET on November 1, 2021.

You can enter as many interiors as you’d like.

Please document your build as you go along with images and any notes you deem relevant. If you’re a finalist, we may call on you for additional images and build information.
