Trimmer Melvin Michael Doll of Brainerd, Minnesota, has died at age 90.
Melvin was born on November 3, 1931, in Albany, Minnesota. After graduating high school in 1949, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a staff sergeant and spent three years stationed in France.
Following an honorable discharged in 1956, Melvin enrolled in Minneapolis Vo-Tech to study upholstery. Not too long after, he became the owner of Kline Auto Upholstery in downtown Minneapolis, which he operated until his retirement.
In his free time, Melvin enjoyed fishing at his lake home in Garrison. “If his boat was on the water the fish were biting,” his obituary boasts.
Melvin died on June 2, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Mardy; daughter Michelle; son Mike; five grandchildren, Alex, Megan, Colin, Kaitlyn and Kyle; two great-grandchildren, Emilia and Landon; sister Dolores Kaiser and many nieces and nephews.
