Congratulations to the 200 workers at Pullmaflex’s manufacturing plant in Ammanford, Wales, for winning a double-digit pay increase after voting for a strike action.
The car seat manufacturer offered the workers’ union, Unite, a two-year pay deal after they voted in favor of the action — and the union promptly accepted.
Over a period of two years, shop floor workers will see their salaries increase by a total of 10.5%, while shift managers, maintenance workers and other roles will receive a total pay raise of 8.6%, the union reported.
“By voting for strike action, Pullmaflex’s workers showed the company they were serious about receiving a fair pay rise and ensured they got one,” Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said. “As this result demonstrates, Unite’s absolute focus on improving jobs, pay and conditions is putting money in our members’ pockets.”
It’s great to see auto trim workers take a stand and get what they deserve.
