With its annual Interiors Conference only weeks away, WardsAuto has announced its list of the auto industry’s “10 Best Interiors” of 2018.
This year’s list was dominated by affordable automakers, including Chevrolet, Hyundai and Kia. However, a few luxury brands also made the list.
The least expensive car to be featured was the Hyundai Kona, which costs $29,775. The most expensive was the Porsche Panamera, which starts at $201,540. Of course, these cars don’t have much in common. But for in their respective categories, WardsAuto says they have the best interiors.
Below is WardsAuto’s list of 2018 vehicles with the best interiors. They’re in alphabetical order, not rank:
- Chevrolet Equinox
- Hyundai Kona
- Infiniti QX50
- Kia Stinger
- Lexus LS 500
- Lincoln Navigator
- Porsche Panamera
- Ram 1500
- Range Rover Velar
- Toyota Camry
The winners were chosen from 40 nominated vehicles that were driven, reviewed and scored by WardsAuto editors on a list of criteria — including ergonomics, safety, comfort, value and fit-and-finish.
In an article announcing the winners, WardsAuto noted that nearly all the interiors featured quality fabrics that stood out for having interesting textures, unique perforation patterns and eye-catching accent colors, including red and lime green.
“Thank you to all the interior designers who have been urging their bosses to take chances and try colors that are less predictable,” said WardsAuto Senior Content Director Drew Winter.
The winners will be honored at next month’s WardsAuto Interiors Conference in Detroit, Michigan. For interior photos, as well as a detailed explanation of why WardsAuto selected these 10 models, see the “Ward’s 10 Best Interiors” web page.
