Trimmer Chester “Chet” Dow of Middletown, New York, has died at age 79.
Chester was born in Middletown on May 15, 1943 and graduated from Middletown High School.
His career took him down numerous paths, from selling restaurant equipment to opening a custard stand called Scoopy Doo. Ultimately, he established Chet’s Auto Trim, where he specialized in custom seat covers and convertible tops.
Chester loved cars and was an active member of the Orange County Antique Car Club. He was also a volunteer firefighter, little league coach, amateur cook and fan of the Yankees and Giants, according to his obituary.
Sadly, after a long illness he died on April 4, 2023 at Westchester Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie; his children Thomas Dow, Kevin Dow, Nicole Miraglia, Tammie Dow, Jonathan Dow, Julianne Collinger, and Stephen Dow; his grandchildren; Aaron, Ashley, Elliott, Emilia, Matthew; great-granddaughter Rylinn; and brother, Walter Dow.
