The Hog Ring - Trimmer Michael Andrew Piccolo Dies at 67

Trimmer Michael Andrew “Andy” Piccolo of Newport, North Carolina, has died at age 67.

Michael was born on July 22, 1958 and graduated from Exeter Township High School near Reading, Pennsylvania.

After relocating to North Carolina, where he fell in love with the ocean, Michael pursued a career in auto upholstery.

“Michael was a true craftsman, dedicated to his trade, and earned a Master Craftsman certification from the National Association of Auto Trim Shops,” his obituary says. “Over his life, he owned and operated several auto upholstery shops throughout the United States. For the past 20 years, he proudly owned and operated 2 Andy’s Trim Shop in Morehead City, NC. The name ‘2 Andy’s’ was a tribute to his father, his lifelong business partner. Michael took great pride in every job he undertook and the end result was always flawless.”

Sadly, Michael died on April 14, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Piccolo; sons, Colton Piccolo and Brian Peterson; and five grandchildren.

His obituary lovingly states: “What we will miss most about Michael is his contagious laugh, his wisdom, and his ability to have deep conversations about anything over a cup of coffee. He lived an exciting life, one filled with change, growth, and transformation. Throughout the years, he continually strived to become a better version of himself.”

May he Rest in Peace.
