Trimmer Terry Dean Nelson of Greenville, Texas, has died at age 79.
Terry was born on March 23, 1947, and began learning the craft of auto upholstery at a young age. That skill not only became his profession but his legacy, his obituary says.
“Through hard work and determination, he became a master of his craft and opened Terry’s Trim Shop in 1972 on Lee Street in Greenville,” his obituary explains. “For 52 years, Terry’s Trim Shop stood as a trusted cornerstone of the community, where Terry built lifelong friendships and earned generations of loyal customers through his exceptional work, honesty, and character. In 2024, Terry proudly passed the business on to his longtime dedicated employee, Tony Byrne, whom he loved like a son. Tony continues Terry’s Trim Shops’ cherished legacy.”
In his off time, Terry enjoyed spending time with his family, history, firearms, and sitcoms like “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Two and a Half Men.”
Sadly, Terry died on May 1, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Sammie; two daughters, Shannon Patton and Jennifer Nelson; four granddaughters, Shyann Haught, Kelsie Patton, Kinsey Palmer and Kassi Patton; and great-grandsons, Kohen and Kaden Palmer.
“Terry leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, love, and family devotion that will continue through the generations he cherished so deeply,” his obituary says. “He will be remembered not only for the beautiful work of his hands, but for his love of history, his passions and hobbies, the warmth of his humor, and the unwavering love he gave so freely to his family.”
May he Rest in Peace.
