Trimmer Edward Joseph “Big Ed” Rustic, Sr. of East Haven, Connecticut, has died at age 86.
Edward was born in New Haven on October 10, 1939. He worked for Connecticut Transit and was the proud owner of Auto Upholstery Unlimited.
Outside of work, Edward was a talented artist, boxing fanatic, classic car enthusiast, and a loyal fan of UConn Women’s Basketball. “Most of all, Ed was a family man, he loved spending time with his family and he was a proud Poppy, dad, husband, uncle and soon to be great grandfather,” his obituary says. “Ed’s sense of humor and kind, welcoming spirit will be missed by all who knew him.”
Sadly, Edward died on March 3, 2026. He is survived by Edward Rustic, Jr.; Marciann Schaffer; Roseann Fusco; Kristopher, Brian and Joseph Rustic; Justin, Jordan, and Julianna Schaffer; Michael Fusco; and Angelina Cruz.
