
Trimmer Stephen Brent States of Parkersburg, West Virginia, has died at age 77.
Stephen was born on October 22, 1948 and was a lifelong public servant. In addition to serving eight years in the U.S. Army National Guard, he led a distinguished 33-year career as a firefighter with the Parkersburg Fire Department.
Stephen also owned and operated Little Kanawha Auto Upholstery Shop, and was celebrated in his community for his superb craftsmanship.
Faith played an important role in Stephen’s life. He was a pastor at Narrow Gate Baptist Church.
“Stephen was a man whose character was as vibrant as his sense of humor,” his obituary says. “Always ready with a joke to lighten the mood, he brought smiles and laughter to all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.”
Stephen died on September 5, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Kim; brother, Rick; sister-in-law, Teresa; children, Brent, Justin, and Jason; grandchildren, Brett, Bree, Bryce, Brayden, and Stephen; and four great-grandchildren.
